Authorities in Sharjah have confirmed the tragic deaths of a 32-year-old Indian woman and her infant daughter in their Al Nahda apartment, in what is being treated as a suspected case of suicide and suffocation.

According to the forensic report, the woman — a native of Kerala — died by suicide. She was found hanging in her home on the afternoon of July 8, when emergency services responded to the incident. The report cited visible marks on her neck consistent with death by hanging.

Tragically, her one-year-and-four-month-old daughter was also found unresponsive at the scene. Forensic experts concluded that the child died due to airway obstruction, possibly caused by a soft object such as a pillow. There were no signs of external injury or violence on the child's body, the report added.

Both bodies were initially transferred to Al Qasimi Hospital before being moved to the forensic lab for further examination.

Authorities have since handed over the case to the Sharjah Public Prosecution, as investigations continue to uncover the full circumstances behind the heartbreaking event.
