Cristiano Ronaldo has reaffirmed his commitment to Saudi Arabia, announcing his intention to live in the Kingdom permanently. The Portuguese football legend, now 40, has extended his contract with Saudi club Al Nassr through 2027, strengthening his ties to both the team and the country.

Ronaldo, who joined Al Nassr in late 2022 following his departure from Manchester United, has stated to media that he and his family feel genuinely welcomed in Saudi Arabia, describing it as a place of peace and safety. He noted the warm treatment from the local people and his desire to build a life in the Kingdom with his family.

Since joining the club, Ronaldo has scored 99 goals across all competitions. While he has lifted the King Salman Club Cup, he continues to chase a major domestic or continental title with Al Nassr. He has stated to media that his decision to renew the contract is driven by an unfinished mission and his belief that he can still win a championship in Saudi Arabia.

Ronaldo also revealed that he declined offers to play in the expanded FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, choosing instead to rest and prepare for what he expects to be a challenging season with both Al Nassr and the Portuguese national team.

Earlier this month, Ronaldo played a key role in Portugal’s victory in the UEFA Nations League, scoring in the final against Spain before the team secured the title through a penalty shootout.

He has spoken highly of the Saudi Pro League, ranking it among the top five football leagues globally, and expressed confidence that the 2034 FIFA World Cup, which Saudi Arabia is set to host, will be one of the most remarkable in history.

Looking ahead, Ronaldo has stated to media that the upcoming season will be the best in Al Nassr’s history. He also encouraged people unfamiliar with Saudi Arabia to visit and experience its culture and hospitality firsthand, adding that he appreciates the lifestyle and environment the country offers.
