KSrelief Signs $5.15 Million Agreement with UN to Aid Vulnerable Groups in Ukraine
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has signed a $5.15 million cooperation agreement with the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) to provide emergency protection services for vulnerable groups in Ukraine, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Saturday.
The agreement, signed in Riyadh by KSrelief Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs Ahmed Al-Baiz and UNFPA Deputy Executive Director Andrew Saberton, aims to assist 49,360 people affected by the ongoing crisis.
The initiative will focus on delivering essential services related to gender-based violence, including mobile psychosocial support teams, safe spaces for women and girls, economic empowerment programs, dignity kits, and community psychological support. Additionally, it seeks to enhance the capabilities of psychological support service providers in Ukraine.
KSrelief Supports Agriculture & Fisheries in Yemen
In a separate humanitarian effort, Al-Baiz also signed a cooperation agreement with the Benevolence Coalition for Humanitarian Relief in Riyadh. The partnership aims to promote sustainable agriculture and strengthen the agricultural and fishery sectors in Yemen’s governorates.
The initiative will enhance the resilience of farmers and fishermen by providing essential supplies, including seeds, equipment, safety tools, fishing boats, veterinary kits, and greenhouses. The agreement also includes training on modern agricultural and fishery techniques and improvements in irrigation infrastructure, such as drip irrigation systems and canal networks.
These agreements reaffirm Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to humanitarian efforts worldwide, supporting communities in crisis through strategic aid programs.
