Oakley Brings Innovation and Style to Freestyle Snowboarding and Skiing
Oakley, renowned for its heritage in sport and relentless innovation, is making its mark on the snow like never before. For the first time in its history, the brand has become the official apparel sponsor for the national freestyle snowboard teams of Canada and Finland, while also supporting New Zealand’s Freestyle Ski athletes with purpose-built competition gear.
Drawing on decades of experience in extreme environments, Oakley’s snow apparel combines cutting-edge design with technical precision. Each piece is engineered to withstand harsh conditions while enhancing athletic performance in Halfpipe, Slopestyle, and Big Air events. The gear is designed to maximize freedom of movement and reflect the energy of modern snow culture.
“Stoked on the collab between Oakley and Canada Snowboard for our Olympic outerwear,” said Team Oakley athlete Cameron Spalding. “Oakley has been home to me for many years, and I know the gear will perform to the highest standard. The design and colorways are clean, and the fit is exactly what we need as snowboarders—they nailed it.”
Oakley’s Canada Snowboard collection channels speed, precision, and national pride. Bold construction, dynamic graphics, and a modern reinterpretation of the Canadian maple leaf convey momentum and identity. Key pieces include the BALDFACE Shell Jacket with waterproof FNDry™ fabric, fully-taped seams, and RECCO® safety technology; the WINTERTIDE Softshell Hoodie; CHANNEL Cargo Pant; and BALDFACE Shell Pant—all engineered to deliver performance while reflecting Canadian heritage.
“Snow has always been my element, and Oakley has been with me every step of the way,” said Team Oakley athlete Rene Rinnekangas. “Every piece is engineered for performance, letting me push my limits on the mountain. Being part of Oakley’s first-ever national team sponsorship makes this moment even more special.”
In Finland, Oakley supports snowboard athletes through the high-performance Aura collection, designed for Freestyle, Halfpipe, Slopestyle, and Big Air events. The collection features the BALDFACE Shell Jacket, WINTERTIDE Softshell Hoodie, and CHANNEL Cargo Pant, accented with Oakley’s signature Ellipse motif and custom Finnish detailing. Additional pieces, including gloves, beanies, socks, and neck gaiters, complete a cohesive look that mirrors athletes in motion while providing waterproofing, breathability, and functional features for freestyle snow environments.
For New Zealand, Oakley delivers Freestyle Ski outerwear designed for precision, confidence, and movement. Bold black-and-white graphics highlight national identity, while the signature Ellipse motif energizes each design. Streamlined pants feature a dynamic silver fern, and reimagined cargo pockets blend utility with performance.
“It’s pretty special for myself and New Zealand Freestyle Ski to partner with Oakley on competition gear for the Winter Olympics,” said Team Oakley athlete Luca Harrington. “When it comes to quality, Oakley is the best. When it comes to style and trends, Oakley has our backs. Freestyle skiing is all about style and quality, so it’s a pleasure to work with a company that shares our values.”
Designed for athletes from Canada, Finland, New Zealand, and Oakley’s own freestyle team, the brand’s snow gear and accessories empower athletes to push boundaries, move with agility, and redefine what’s possible on the world stage.
