Emirates Adds Jaywan Payment Option
The agreement was signed by Abdulla Al Olama, Vice President Commercial Operations UAE at Emirates, and Andrea Cianchetti, Chief Product Officer at Al Etihad Payments, in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.
Starting September 16, UAE-based customers will be able to use Jaywan cards to pay for Emirates flights online through emirates.com. Jaywan cards will also be accepted at Emirates retail stores, where physical cards will be verified by staff before payment and ticket issuance.
Emirates will accept all Jaywan cards, including the Jaywan Royal Debit Card, Jaywan Prestige Debit Card and Jaywan Prepaid Card.
Customers using Jaywan will also have access to discounts across all cabin classes and most fare types on one-way and return flights departing from Dubai. The offer applies to bookings made from September 16, 2026, to August 31, 2027, for travel until February 29, 2028.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, said the addition of Jaywan gives UAE customers another locally developed payment option when booking travel.
The partnership is also part of Emirates’ wider efforts to support digital payments and cashless adoption in the UAE, he said.
Dr. Tariq Al Hawi, Chief Operating Officer at Al Etihad Payments, said the partnership would provide Jaywan cardholders with greater choice, flexibility and convenience when booking Emirates flights online or making purchases at retail stores.
He added that access to exclusive fares across all cabin classes demonstrates how Jaywan can link everyday payments with additional benefits and travel experiences.
The agreement follows Emirates’ other initiatives to expand digital payment options in the UAE. In October 2025, the airline signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dubai Finance to support the Dubai Cashless Strategy among international visitors.
In July 2026, Emirates also introduced Crypto.com Pay™ for eligible UAE residents, allowing them to make payments through emirates.com and the Emirates app.
Jaywan is the UAE’s domestic card scheme launched by Al Etihad Payments as part of efforts to establish a resilient national payments ecosystem. The scheme is designed to process local transactions securely and efficiently while strengthening the country’s domestic card infrastructure.
Jaywan cards are issued by major banks across the UAE and are accepted by an expanding network of merchants, including ride-hailing and car rental services, restaurants, attractions, healthcare and pharmacies, and retail businesses.
