Sony has introduced the fourth generation of its DWX Digital Wireless Microphone Series, featuring the new DWT-B40 bodypack transmitter and DWR-R40Q rack-mount receiver. The new systems are designed to make professional wireless audio easier to configure while improving transmission reliability in demanding live-production environments.
The new series targets a wide range of applications, from theatres, operas and musicals to studios, sports and large-scale live events. Sony says users can configure frequencies and pair up to four channels through a simplified button-based setup, reducing the need for specialized technical expertise.
A major highlight is the DWT-B40’s 32-bit float internal recording, which provides a backup recording if the wireless signal is interrupted. The transmitter can record distortion-free audio internally and supports time-code synchronisation for easier post-production.
The DWT-B40 also supports transmission power of up to 50mW, depending on the region, while the DWR-R40Q features four-antenna diversity reception for improved stability in crowded RF environments.
