BSB shine in World Scholar’s Cup

British School Bahrain (BSB) students excelled in the   World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) competition held at St Christopher’s Senior School. This year BSB had 51 students ranging from Year 7 to 11 participating in the competition, which is an international team academic program,  while many of whom walked away with medals and trophies galore. It was an amazing two days with BSB students learning, interacting and having fun with other students from different schools.

Yannis Panagis did BSB proud as he was selected for the Debate Showcase and his skills proved to be the winning formula for his team. BSB’s top Senior Team of Yannis Panagis, Salaar Arslan and Saad Khan came third overall.  All three did exceptionally well in their events and as role models have inspired the Junior Section teams to do even better next time.  BSB teachers  Mrs Margarithe Mayes and Mr Yasin Motara accompanied the team. 

BSB’S  next stop is the Global Round to be held in Bangkok, Thailand in June and from there the school  anticipates  taking qualifying teams to Yale, USA in November. WSC is a celebration of learning. Schools can field unlimited teams at regional rounds.

Teams are welcome to participate at multiple regional rounds. Teams that qualify at regional rounds can participate at the Global Round and can also apply for berths at the Yale University event, though strong preference is given to teams that excel at the Global Round.
