The Kingdom of Bahrain has  opened the door for donations in support of quake-hit people in Turkey and Syria.

The donations drive follows directives from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, said HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) Board of Trustees’ Chairman,  His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

HM the King had issued directives to provide urgent humanitarian relief aid for Turkey and Syria, following the devastating earthquake, which left thousands of dead people and caused massive destruction.

The drive also followed an appeal by citizens and residents to support quake-hit people and help alleviate their suffering and contribute to Bahrain’s national efforts to implement the royal directives.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad expressed deepest thanks and gratitude to HM the King, (RHF) Honorary Chairman, hailing  royal humanitarian initiatives in support of disaster-stricken and needy people worldwide.

He commended the Government, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, hailing its unwavering support.

Following the royal directives, RHF Secretary-General Dr. Mustafa Al Sayyed has been appointed as executive chief to oversee the campaign and facilitate procedures for citizens and residents to take part in the donations drive.

Dr. Al Sayyed said that all measures would be taken to organize the campaign, noting that account numbers would be announced and communication facilitated to engage all people in the drive.

He appealed to private sector companies and people to contribute to the campaign in support of quake-hit people in Turkey and Syria and support national efforts.
