His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has affirmed Bahrainis’ determination and commitment to attaining more achievements and progress.
He directed the government to continue its efforts to achieve more accomplishments for the country and the citizens.
HM the King was speaking as he chaired yesterday the weekly Cabinet meeting at Al Sakhir Palace. His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, also attended the meeting.
His Majesty lauded the Kingdom’s wide-ranging achievements, and praised the outstanding performance of the government, led by HRH Prince Salman, in driving Bahrain’s comprehensive development and empowering citizens to achieve their aspirations.
HM King Hamad commended the national initiatives that have promoted excellence and modernisation in the Kingdom.
Pride
HM King Hamad expressed pride in his recent visit to Saudi Arabia, and shared with the Cabinet about its outcomes, including updates from his meetings with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
In this context, the Cabinet congratulated HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman for his appointment as Prime Minister following the issuance of a Royal Order by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and wished him continued success in achieving greater accomplishments for Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Welcome
HM the King welcomed the upcoming official visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to Bahrain at HM’s invitation. The historic visit is a recognition of the kingdom’s status as an oasis of coexistence throughout history, affirming the commitment of Bahrain to uphold and promote the values of peaceful and harmonious coexistence amongst different faiths and cultures.
HM the King congratulated the Bahraini citizens, and the Arab and Islamic nations on the anniversary of Prophet Mohammed’s date of birth, wishing everyone a joyful celebration.
Key role
His Majesty commended the key role played by Bahraini teachers throughout history, citing their success in nurturing generations of local talent who are instrumental in contributing to the kingdom’s comprehensive development process.
He affirmed that the nation values highly the selflessness and dedication of its teachers, and congratulated all teachers in Bahrain on World Teachers’ Day, wishing them continued success in carrying out their educational mission.
Lasting peace
While reviewing the latest global developments, HM King Hamad stressed the importance of the concerted effort of all to achieve lasting and inclusive peace in a way that would ensure the interests and national security of all countries.
He also reaffirmed the importance of activating channels of dialogue, negotiations and peaceful solutions to achieve peace and progress for all.
