Bahrain takes part in climate change global discussion

Special Envoy for Climate Affairs and Chief Executive Officer of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) Dr Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dinah participated in “Launching of the Glasgow – Sharm El Shaikh Program for the Global Goal on Adaptation (GGA).”

The meeting was launched by the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology in the Maldives. They discussed the achievements, initiatives, and projects adopted by the Kingdom to adapt and reduce climate change effects, such as the National Investment Plan to Adapt to Climate Change, which is implemented by the SCE in partnership with the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), and many programmes that represent the Kingdom’s fulfillment in saving the environment.

Dr Bin Dinah stressed Bahrain’s keenness under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to support international efforts aimed at curbing the phenomenon of climate change.

He highlighted the interest of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister in adopting climate initiatives and programs and its commitment to the 26 Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26).

The special envoy praised the commitment of HM the King’s Personal Representative and SCE Chairman His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
