Sports skills to the fore

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa stressed Bahrain’s keenness to uplifting the skills of the national players to accentuate Bahrain’ international standing. Lauding the great efforts of the riders of the Royal Endurance Team marking their commendable win in the World Endurance Championships for Juniors and Young Riders recently held in Chile, HM King congratulated them on their historic achievement. 

HM the King’s Representative for Charity and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and Royal Endurance Team Leader HH Shaikh Nasser 

bin Hamad Al Khalifa and First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports also President of the Bahrain Athletics Association HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, accompanied with the riders of the Royal Endurance Team were given a reception in Safriya Palace yesterday.

On the occasion, HM the King praised the efforts of Shaikh Nasser in developing endurance sport and upgrading sport talents to achieve leading positions at the regional and global levels. Also commended Shaikh Khalid’s contributions to promote the Bahraini sports to higher levels.

Rider Fahad Al Khatri sealed first place in the individual category, while the Royal team secured first place in the team category in the championship held in Chile. HM the King also received Bahraini swimmer Alzein Tarek Juma on the occasion of her participation in the 2015 World Aquatics Championships recently held Kazan, Russia.

HM the King took pride in the efforts of the youngest Bahraini swimmer. The father of the young swimmer thanked HM the King for receiving and encouraging her.
