Two brothers jailed in Bahrain for stealing doctor’s wallet

The High Criminal Court sentenced two brothers to three years in jail each for stealing a doctor’s wallet.
The first defendant, 40, is said to have gone to a hospital because he felt sick and was asked to undertake several tests.
He was with his 35-year-old brother. When they arrived inside the laboratory, they saw a handbag with a wallet inside.
They opened the bag and took the wallet before fleeing. “When I got to work, I left my bag in the laboratory and went to a meeting. I returned after one hour and 45 minutes only to find out that my wallet was missing. There was BD25, a driver’s license, my ID card, and several ATM cards,” the victim told prosecutors.
The two were identified through the hospital’s CCTV cameras. They also attempted to withdraw money using the stolen ATM cards but were unable to do so as they didn’t know the pin code.
