SCH president opens new COVID-19 drive-through centre in Bahrain

A new drive-through coronavirus (COVID-19) checkup centre was inaugurated yesterday at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club at Al-Raffa, in Sakhir.

The President of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), Lieutenant General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Head of the National Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus (COVID-19), opened the centre.

“The new checkup centre aims to enhance the capacity of laboratory tracing of COVID-19 and reduce the waiting time,” said Dr Shaikh Mohammed following the opening. The drive-through centre adopts the best medical criteria and contains reception halls for vehicles to take the swabs.

The Minister of Health, Faeqa bint Saeed Al Saleh, members of the National Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus, and senior officials from the health sector were present.

The SCH President commended the tremendous support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the continuous follow-up of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to protect people’s safety and end the coronavirus pandemic.

The SCH President called on all to continue complying with the COVID-19 guidelines and instructions to protect the Kingdom.
