iGA confirms validity of ‘notify me’ SMS

In response to rumours on social media regarding SMS, Information and eGovernment Authority has confirmed that the messages are valid and official, being sent through telecom companies, in collaboration with TRA, as previously announced on 25th September 2019. To verify the authenticity of the message, the user will be directed immediately to the official National Portal, www. bahrain.bh, which is the only registration platform.

iGA has urged users once again to update their contact details in order to receive official government notifications related to their government transactions via SMS and email in instead of by post. Bahrainis, residents, and GCC citizens can avail of the service by visiting the National Portal at Bahrain.bh, or by following the link mentioned in the SMS. Users must also make sure to enter their correct mobile numbers and emails as the system will carry out an automatic confirmation process prior to registration.

To use the NotifyMe service on Bahrain.bh, users can login with their eKey or ID card, then select ‘Register Contact Details’. Once the login attempt is successful, the system will request users to enter their mobile numbers and One-Time Passwords (OTP), which they will receive via SMS on the same mobile number. They can then click on the link they receive by emails to complete the registration process.
