Kingdom Reaffirms Strong Ties with Saudi Arabia on National Day
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, deputised Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to attend a reception hosted by the Saudi Embassy in Bahrain to mark Saudi Arabia’s 96th National Day.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah conveyed HRH Prince Salman’s congratulations and best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
During the reception, Shaikh Khalid highlighted the longstanding relationship between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, describing it as a partnership built on historical ties, mutual trust and close bonds between the two peoples.
He also pointed to the historic relationship between Isa Al Kabeer, former Ruler of Bahrain, and King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, founder of modern Saudi Arabia, noting that the legacy continues to shape the close relations between the two countries.
Shaikh Khalid said Bahrain’s celebrations of Saudi National Day, including landmarks illuminated in green, reflect the close solidarity between the two countries.
He reaffirmed Bahrain’s support for Saudi Arabia’s security and stability and condemned the reported attempt by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia to target Makkah Al Mukarramah, describing it as a violation of the sanctity of the holy site and international norms.
He also praised Saudi Arabia’s development achievements under Vision 2030 and its progress in areas including the knowledge economy and future-focused development.
Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain Naif bin Bandar Al Sudairi expressed appreciation for the Bahraini leadership’s support in strengthening relations between the two countries.
