New health centre project to begin soon

Southern Governorates' Fifth constituency representative MP Khalifa Al Ghanim said that the work on new health centre project would begin soon. The health centre will consist of 13 rooms for doctors, radiation lab, dental clinic, integrated pharmacy and a number of special service rooms for staff.

 Sprawling in an estimated area of 20,000 square meters, the building area of the centre would be 8850 square meters. During an inspection visit to the project site yesterday, Al Ghanim said that there would be a dialysis centre on the fringe of the main health centre. It will be built on an area of 21,000 square meters with the building area of 7,410 square meters and it will have around 60 beds.

 The total cost of both the health centre and the dialysis centre is BD4 million. The project is scheduled to start in October and will be completed in October 2017.

 Health Ministry Undersecretary Dr. Aisha Buanq, Assistant Undersecretary for Financial and Technical Affairs Maher Al Ani Anis, Works Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Construction Projects & Maintenance Eng. Mona Al Mutawa, Batelco representative Osama Al Saad, representatives from Batelco and Eng. Adel Ahmadi were also present during the inspection. They reviewed the hospital maps for the building and a number of technical issues concerning the construction site.

 Commenting that the health centre will serve a large section of citizens and residents, Dr. Aisha Buanq said that the Health Ministry was working very hard to expedite the process of the project and provide it with all necessary experts in the medical field, especially in the field of dentistry. It is worth mentioning that the centre will be built at the expense of Batelco.
