Manama

Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa ordered the implementation of a host of projects in Hidd town yesterday during his visit to the town to follow up on implementation of government projects.

Prince Khalifa also inaugurated a multi-purpose hall project, which was ordered to be constructed by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The Premier named it after Jabr bin Mohammed Al-Musallam in tribute for his contributions to the Bahraini community. The hall will be built in line with the royal directives on the land owned by the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO).

On the occasion, HRH the Prime Minister directed to complete Hidd Harbour facilities and tasked the Ministerial Committee for Construction and Infrastructure to follow up on the work progress there. He also tasked the Traffic Council to study changing the traffic movement on Hidd Avenue into one way to ease traffic snarls. He ordered to name roads and facilities in Hidd after people from that town, who contributed remarkably to the nation.

HRH the Premier listened to citizens’ views and proposals on the required facilities and ordered relevant parties to study them. He directed Ministers and officials to conduct more field visits to inspect projects. Pointing out the prompt steps taken for attaining the comprehensive development goals, he asserted the government’s resolve to continue implementing development projects to boost citizens’ welfare.

A large number of Hidd residents gathered to meet the Premier during his visit. They expressed their gratitude to the Premier for initiating the projects in Hidd.
