‘plan in pipeline to attract investments’

Manama

The Kingdom of Bahrain aims to become a main hub for regional and international investments, said the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Zayed Rashid Al Zayani. He added that the Ministry was currently focusing on further developing the national economy by easing the process for foreign investments and creating job opportunities.

“Bahrain has always been an open economy for foreign investment. Our challenges are centered on the existing set of laws and legislations, both on a national and international front,” he said while speaking during the ‘At the Majlis’ series hosted by the Capital Club located at the Bahrain Financial Harbor.

The event was attended by a number of think tanks from the economic and financial sector. He also discussed the national strategy developed to boost the tourism and commerce sector, which is in line with the reforms initiated by His Majesty the King.

“The growth of the tourism industry is driven by two main pillars: investing in tourism projects and keeping abreast with regional and international trends. Besides, the Kingdom has the rich history dating back to 5,000 years and the unrenowned hospitality of its people. These two elements play a vital role and drive our national tourism strategy forward,” he observed. “The government will focus its efforts on developing a holistic approach and building the infrastructure required to attract and support local and international investors.”

Speaking on the occasion, Capital Cub Bahrain’s General Manager, Dina Haikel extended gratitude to the Minister for accepting their invitation to be the second speaker of the ‘At the Majlis,’ which is a monthly event. It will feature a number of key executives from both the government and private sector.

The next session will feature Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry Shaikha Hind bint Salman Al Khalifa. This will be held in June.
