Kingdom summons Iraqi diplomat
The Kingdom’s Foreign Ministry summoned the deputy charge d’affaires of the embassy of Iraq to denounce a recent statement made by Iraqi cleric Muqtada Al Sadr against Bahrain.
The Undersecretary of Regional and GCC Affairs, Ambassador Waheed Mubarak Sayyar, expressed the Kingdom’s strong dismissal and objection of the statement issued by Muqtada Al Sadr, in which he mentioned the Kingdom of Bahrain.
“The statement is blatant and unacceptable interference in the internal affairs of the Kingdom. It violates the principles of international law and affects the nature of relations between the Kingdom and the Republic of Iraq.”
