Former Bahraini Minister slammed for issuing dud cheque

The Lower Criminal Court postpones the case of a former Bahraini Minister to March 13th hearing, on issuing a 50,000-dinar cheque with no sufficient balance.

The Plaintiff received a cheque from the defendant as a guarantee for an amount he got from him, but the defendant questioned the credibility of the cheque and accused the plaintiff of forging it.

The details of the incident go back to a complaint from a Bahraini businessman stating that the defendant (the former minister) issued a check worth 50,000 dinars, in exchange for an advance loan to the defendant.

He added that the defendant issued the check as a guarantee to return the amount; however, when the check was due the plaintiff realized that the account was deactivated already and has zero balance.
