Bahraini in jail for stealing cash

Man decamped with BD15,000 belonged to a construction company

 The High Criminal Court has sentenced a Bahraini man to one year in prison for stealing BD15,000 belonged to a construction company. The money was in the car of the company accountant and the defendant tracked him when he saw him receiving the money from a bank in which he was already making some transactions.

 The accountant was with someone at the time he cashed in the cheque he had received in order to pay the salaries of the construction company's employees.

 But he kept the money in the car when he reached the company as the defendant is said to have been snooping on him. The defendant was identified after police reviewed the CCTV cameras installed in the lampposts on the roads.

 The defendant was seen in a green car tracking the defendant's vehicle. BD10,000 was found in his room when police raided his home, as the remaining amount of the stolen sum he used to purchase a car.

 "I broke the window of the car to steal the money, and I used part of the money to purchase a vehicle I saw on Instagram," the Bahraini convict told prosecutors.
