Teenager dies as truck hits bicycle, one hurt
A Bahraini teenager was killed and another boy was seriously injured after an Asian truck driver knocked them off their bike in Muharraq Governorate yesterday morning, according to security authorities.
Stating on its official Twitter account, Interior Ministry confirmed that “a cyclist died and another one was injured after a truck hit them on Amwaj Avenue.”
A source confirmed to DT News that both victims were Bahraini boys, identified as Fawz Hisham, 16, and Ahmed Suwailam, 17.
“They were both riding the same bike on Amwaj Avenue near Qalali at 7.38 am, when the mishap occurred. Fawz was declared dead at King Hamad University Hospital, while Ahmed suffered serious injuries in both legs,” the source informed, adding that the truck driver was a 36-year-old Nepalese national.
The Ministry added that the concerned security departments had initiated its investigations into the incident.
