KYIV: President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that the United States has briefed Ukraine on a series of confidential high-level meetings held in Moscow, thanking Washington for sharing details and maintaining a firm diplomatic stance toward Russia.

The intelligence updates follow a secretive trip to the Russian capital by CIA Director John Ratcliffe. Reports indicate Ratcliffe traveled to Moscow to warn Russian officials against potential military operations targeting NATO members, while also addressing Moscow’s ongoing military support for Iran.

In his address, Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to American officials for maintaining ‘the necessary tone’ during their discussions with the Kremlin. He emphasized that Kyiv values Washington's coordinated approach and its realistic vision for creating the necessary conditions to end the war.

However, the reported warnings drew mixed reactions from international leadership. The Kremlin dismissed reports regarding the NATO warning, while US President Donald Trump downplayed the trip as semi-routine, asserting that Russian President Vladimir Putin would not attack a NATO country.

Meanwhile, allied nations confirmed advance knowledge of the mission, with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stating Warsaw was pre-informed amid concerns over potential seasonal escalation.
