The body of Rajesh Gopalakrishna Kurup, who was found dead in a car near a mall in Riffa, would be sent to his home country, India, once his employer completes all legal formalities.

Speaking to DT News, social activist K.R. Nair said that the body of 40-year-old Rajesh was found inside a car on Saturday.

According to him, Rajesh had been working as a driver for a leading pastry shop owner in the Kingdom. The owner was away when the incident took place. Rajesh was looking after the house and car of the owner when he was away on vacation.

Rajesh was found missing when one of the office staff of the pastry shop tried to contact him over phone. A missing complaint was lodged at Budaiya police station on the same day after the office staff failed to reach him.

Finally, police officials from Riffa police station informed Budaiya police station that the body of Rajesh had been located near a mall in Riffa.

The body has been kept at the morgue at Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC).

“His employer is expected to reach Bahrain today. The body of the deceased could be sent to India only after the sponsor clears all formalities,” said K.R. Nair.

Rajesh arrived in Bahrain seven months ago after his vacation in his hometown, Perumbulickal near Pandalam in Pathanamthitta district in Kerala. He is survived by eight-month-old baby girl, wife and mother.
