As part of ongoing government efforts to enhance services and redesign procedures, Bahrain has developed 83 government services across 17 entities between January 15 and June 18, 2026.

The improvements are part of plans to raise the quality of government services and strengthen institutional efficiency by simplifying procedures and improving the user experience.

Among the key upgraded services is the digital transformation of issuing safe disposal certificates for expired food products at the Ministry of Health, which has reduced completion time. The Labour Market Regulatory Authority also improved the service for correcting work permit status for domestic workers under deceased employers through digital transformation.

The upgrades also included automating requests to cancel academic programme transfer applications for students at the University of Bahrain.

In addition, the Electricity and Water Authority introduced automated registration for the monthly fixed discount service through the “Benefit” application for electricity and water bills, making government services more accessible and efficient.

The service development programme achieved full digital transformation of services, reduced service-level agreement periods by at least 25%, limited application steps to a maximum of four, and reduced required documents by 50%.

The initiative also focused on improving digital platforms, simplifying procedures, converting application forms into electronic formats, reducing the number of pages needed to access services by 50%, and ensuring consistent service information across all available channels.
