Marcello Lippi arrived in Bahrain
Manama : Italy’s 2006 World Cup-winning coach Marcello Lippi has arrived in Bahrain last night.
Ministry of Youth and Sports assistant undersecretary Eng. Khalid Al Haj received Marcello Lippi on arrival, and noted the vast experience of the Italian speaker to enrich the conference with his knowledge in the field of sports. He will be the main speaker at the First Arab Conference on Sport today.
Lippi’s contribution to the Bahrain event has been approved by the higher organizing committee of the conference for his vast coaching experience, leading Italy to their latest World Cup victory as well as winning his country’s Serie A title three times with Juventus.
Marcello Lippi is the current manager of the China national team. He served as Italian national team head coach from 16 July 2004 to 12 July 2006 and led Italy to win the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
Lippi is regarded as one of the greatest and most successful managers in football history, and in 2007, The Times included him on its list of the top 50 managers of all time.
