Workshops to boost traditional craft skills

ManamaBahrain’s Handicrafts Directorate announced plans to hold various training workshops aimed at developing the technical skills and expertise of local craftsmen this year.

The workshops, Directorate said, will give training in raku pottery, forged iron works, product packaging, leather crafting, hand embroidery, gypsum engraving and many more.

“Our aim is to improve and develop the national workforce and help preserve the handicraft sector that has proved to be vital in enhancing Bahrain’s new identity under the slogan of ‘Ours. Yours’,” said the Director of Handicrafts Directorate at BTEA, Shaikha Wafa Saif Al Khalifa.
