11th General Recruitment Expo begins

ManamaLabour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan yesterday inaugurated the 11th edition of the General Recruitment Exhibition organised by the Ministry.

The two-day exhibition being held from April 25-26 targets qualified jobseekers from various academic disciplines. More than 70 commercial establishments are offering jobs to fill more than 1,200 vacancies in addition to 800 vacancies available for jobseekers from the Ministry’s “Available Vacancies Databank,” according to the minister. 

“The ministry continues to organise variety career shows on a wider scale to expedite the recruitment of jobseekers and meet the growing demand from fresh graduates entering the labour market,” said the Minister in his inaugural speech.

“Joblessness is a challenge that requires mustering of efforts by all official and private entities to provide jobs for the growing number of jobseekers and to maintain the ratio of joblessness within normal safe limits,” he added. 

The exhibition’s most noticeable feature was the availability of 2,000 vacant jobs in various sectors and disciplines, added the minister.
