Terrorists block roads to schools
Manama : Several roads to public schools were blocked during the past two days, DT News has learnt.
Education Ministry confirmed in a statement that ‘terror attempts to prevent teachers and students from going to schools have failed’ and that 94 per cent of teachers and students attended the school day yesterday.
It described the increased roadblocks near schools in different parts of the country in the past few days as “desperate attempts to halt the educational process in the Kingdom”.
Several roads near schools were blocked using wooden planks, waste bins, iron rods and rocks. Public Relations and Information Directorate revealed that Al Khamees Primary Boys’ School was attacked by Molotov attacks.
The Directorate also added that 524 assaults on educational institutions were reported in the past six years.
