Creating innovators

Manama : Bahrain’s youth has accustomed Bahrain to innovation and creativity in various sectors, affirmed  Supreme Council for Youth & Sport First Vice Chairman and Bahrain Royal Equestrian & Endurance Federation President HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

Shaikh Khalid was speaking as he presided over the spectacular closing ceremony of the Khalid bin Hamad Graduation Projects Awards Forum at the Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa hall yesterday.

He added that scientific research will be the basis of developing the Kingdom, pointing out the importance of improving it through higher education studies which serves the Economic Vision 2030.

HH Shaikh Khalid also expressed his joy at the inventions presented by participating students from various universities at the forum, stressing that the award comes from the keenness to continue with scientific initiatives that reinforce goals of the Bahrain reform project.

“The slogan #Creating_Innovation reflected on Bahrain’s youth abilities which appeared in the forum,” he said while expressing great admiration for the projects that showcased the scientific potential of Bahraini youth.

“Investing in these events is important as they are national events that refine talents of student in various fields such as engineering and computer technology,” he stated.

Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa awarded the winners as follows: In the category of information technology, Yacoub Al Murbati won first position followed by  Haneed Murad  in second. Dr. Riyadh Al Hakeem and Rahma Saad Al Ruwaie won the third position. In the engineering category Hassan and Omar Al Deeb won first place, Aisha Hamad Al Ghatem second, and Dr. Zainab Mohammed and Ahmed Al Malah won third position. 

The forum was organised by the University of Bahrain (UoB) and the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa with participation from 10 universities in the Kingdom of Bahrain, at the UoB headquarters in Sakhir.

The award ceremony was attended by Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Supreme Council for the Environment (SCE) Deputy President, Minister of Education Dr. Majid Al Nuaimi, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Sports Al Jowder, Dr. Riyadh Yousif Hamza, UoB President, several universities presidents, academics and diplomats.
