Woman in the dock for attacking cop
Manama : A deaf woman, who was convicted of publishing obscene images on the internet and using drugs, has been put on another trial on charge of attacking a lieutenant.
The 21-year-old reportedly assaulted the police officer with a medical syringe while he was accompanying her on a police vehicle.
During interrogation, the defendant said she was carrying ill-feelings towards the officer and she was waiting for an opportunity to hurt him.
Communicating with the help of a sign language interpreter, she revealed to prosecutors, “This lieutenant called me on multiple occasions for interrogations. He asked me many questions to the extent I felt so bad that I wanted to kill him. When he accompanied me in the car, I found that it was the right opportunity. I hid the syringe inside my abaya and attacked him,” she added.
She also wounded the man with her nails and she kicked his tummy with her feet before other officers could intervene.
Her trial will be heard on November 29.
