BIC gear up for Burnout

Manama

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) is all geared up to stage the opening round of this year’s Burnout Ramadan Festival on tomorrow evening in Sakhir.

Drivers from all over the Gulf are expected to flock to the circuit to be part of this hugely popular event, which is organised each year by BIC during the holy month.
More than 80 participants and scores of fans turned up for the recent two nights of testing held over the past couple of weekends at BIC.

An even larger turn-out is expected this coming first round and over the remainder of the festival, which will be held over four meetings.
Round two is scheduled for June 26, and then rounds three and four take place on July 3 and July 10, respectively.

Action tomorrow is from 9pm until 1am at BIC car park number five and interested participants may register from 7pm onwards at car parks one and two.
Entrants must meet specific eligibility criteria to take part and pay an entry fee of BD7 per driver. Those wishing to get a taste of the action as passengers may do so for BD4.

Spectators can watch all the action on each of the Burnout Nights free of charge, however, there will also be a VIP area from where fans can enjoy all the action from a special stand and entrance to the VIP area parking is BD10 per car.

At each of the four rounds, drivers will be able to earn points which will count towards their season standings, and at the end of the campaign, determine this year’s overall champion.

The Burnout Ramadan Festival is open to motorsport enthusiasts of all skill levels. It offers a unique kind of thrill including the sight of rapidly rising white smoke and the smell of burning rubber.

Participants will take to the tarmac with the aim of putting on their finest display of burnout while gracefully maneouvring a pre-determined course.
