Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, has received a letter from Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC) of the United Arab Emirates, expressing strong condemnation of the Iranian attacks targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain.
In his message, Ghobash described the attacks as a blatant violation of Bahrain’s sovereignty, security and stability, and a serious breach of international law and the principles governing relations between states. He reaffirmed the UAE’s firm support for Bahrain and expressed confidence in the Kingdom’s ability to overcome the challenges it faces under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The FNC Speaker noted that despite ongoing efforts by Gulf states to promote stability, peace and de-escalation in the region, they continue to face acts of aggression that threaten regional security. He stressed the importance of strengthening Gulf solidarity, coordination and preparedness, while upholding the principles of national sovereignty and mutual support.
Ghobash emphasised that the security of Bahrain is an integral part of the security of the United Arab Emirates and that any threat to Bahrain’s sovereignty and stability has implications for the Gulf security system as a whole.
He added that the longstanding bonds among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states remain a strong shield against threats to the region’s security and stability, expressing his wishes for Bahrain and its people to enjoy continued security, prosperity and progress.
For his part, Speaker Al Musallam expressed appreciation for the supportive sentiments conveyed in the letter, describing them as a reflection of the deep-rooted and brotherly ties between Bahrain and the UAE.
He highlighted the strong bilateral relationship between the two countries, noting that Bahrain-UAE relations represent a model of Gulf cooperation built on solidarity, mutual support and shared interests.
