Bahrain Tourism Ministry Engages Commercial Centres on Summer Plans

Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism, met with representatives of commercial centres across the Kingdom of Bahrain as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships within the tourism sector and review preparations for upcoming tourism seasons and events.
During the meeting, Minister Al Sairafi highlighted the important role commercial centres play in enhancing Bahrain’s tourism offering. She noted that modern shopping destinations have become an integral part of the visitor experience, providing a combination of retail, entertainment, dining and family-oriented activities that contribute to the Kingdom’s attractiveness as a regional tourism destination.
The minister said the wide range of services and experiences available at commercial centres caters to visitors of different ages and interests, helping position Bahrain as a destination capable of offering a unique blend of shopping, leisure and hospitality experiences.
Al Sairafi stressed that collaboration with commercial centres remains an important pillar of efforts to support tourism growth and achieve the goals outlined in Bahrain’s Tourism Strategy 2022–2026.
The meeting reviewed recent developments within the tourism sector and explored opportunities to expand cooperation between stakeholders to further enhance visitor experiences and strengthen Bahrain’s standing on the regional and international tourism map.
Participants also discussed the “Walahna Alaikum” campaign and the summer promotional campaign targeting visitors from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, in addition to reviewing upcoming events and programmes included in Bahrain’s tourism calendar.
The discussions further focused on proposals for joint summer initiatives and promotional offers developed through cooperation between commercial centres and tourism sector partners. The aim is to create integrated experiences that meet the expectations of GCC visitors while enhancing the overall tourism experience.
Proposed initiatives include packages and promotions that combine shopping, entertainment activities, dining experiences, family events and tourism attractions, reinforcing Bahrain’s competitiveness as a preferred summer destination for Gulf families and regional visitors.
