Cabinet hails Bahrain King for BICI establishment

Manama : The Cabinet yesterday appreciated the noble goals behind His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s establishment of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI), which represented a unique event in world.

Chaired by Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Cabinet said the goals have motivated Bahrain to fully implement BICI recommendations according to the best international standards, Cabinet Secretary General Dr. Yasser bin Essa Al Naser, said following the session. 

The Prime Minister appreciated all the relevant government departments for their role in the implementation process, stressing that the government would continue adopting development initiatives in various areas to ensure more security and prosperity for the nation.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet affirmed HRH Premier’s close follow-up of all the stages of the implementation process of the BICI recommendations.

Ramadan preparations

Reviewing the preparations for the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan, the Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism to intensify control on prices and ensure the sufficiency of basic goods and foodstuffs.

The session also approved the continuity of the central slaughterhouse for six more months to meet the growing demand for meat during Ramadan and Eid Al-Adha.

The Premier, however noted that the facility’s management and operation will be put out to tender after the end of this period, in line with the recommendations of the Ministerial Committee for Urbanisation and Infrastructure, presented by the Deputy Premier and the panel Chairman.
