Salmabad road paving starts
Manama : Roads Projects & Maintenance Director at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning Sayyed Bader Alawi revealed that the Ministry has commenced the paving of dirt roads for Road 1409 and the environs in Block 714 in Salmabad.
Work also includes the implementation of a sewerage network.
Alawi explained that the sewerage works and the road works have been combined into one project to save time and integrate the services provided to residents of the block. The project is expected to serve 100 housing units.
Work comprises of removing the existing dirt layer and replacing it with 2 different layers an asphalt of standard specifications, implementing a sewerage network to serve Block 714 and part of Block 708, where the old pumping station will be removed and replaced with a new station of a higher capacity.
Road works include implementing a storm water drainage network, plastic ground channels for future use, lighting and signage.
The BD690,000 project was awarded to Atlas Transportation.
