Forum on green policy on March 29

Manama: A discussion forum on the topic “The Keys to Sustainable Communities: Global Partnerships for Green Policy, Technology and Finance” will be held on March 29 at the Regency InterContinental Hotel.

Chief Executive of the Supreme Council for the Environment Dr Mohammed Mubarak bin Daina announced the plan yesterday during a press conference at the Supreme Council for Environment in Seef.

On behalf of Qays H. Zu’bi of the American Chamber of Commerce, Mary McGinnis along with the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) Director, Dr. Hashim Suleiman Hussein was present.

“This important forum will explore how private industry in partnership with the government in Bahrain can contribute to a green economy. We are living in an exceptional era, where profound environmental transformations are re-shaping the ways we live, do business and interact. It offers a new and incredibly broad spectrum of innovative solutions and opportunities to help solve the challenges we are facing,” said McGinnis.

According to Dr. Hussein, the forum will provide an excellent platform for key business leaders, entrepreneurs, investors and government leaders to discuss how to work with local governments, agencies like UNIDO and the private sector to address major infrastructure
projects.
