Bahrain SMEs Gain Spotlight at Oman Forum

 
Export Bahrain showcases support programmes helping Bahraini SMEs enter regional and international markets
 

Export Bahrain participated in the “Entrepreneurship and International Expansion – The Kingdom of Bahrain Experience as a Model” Forum, held at Crowne Plaza Salalah under the patronage of Sheikh Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas, Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The forum was organised by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Oman in coordination with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Riyada) and the Bahrain-Oman Entrepreneurs Association.

The event was attended by Bahrain’s Ambassador to Oman Dr. Juma Ahmed Al Kaabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Ghassani, Director of Riyada in Dhofar Governorate, Ahmed Sabah Al Salman, Chairman of the Bahrain-Oman Entrepreneurs Association, Sayyida Hajeega bint Jaifer Al Said, CEO of the Bahrain-Oman Entrepreneurs Association, and Fatima Aziz Rostam, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Export Bahrain, along with officials, private and public sector representatives and entrepreneurs.

During the forum, Export Bahrain presented Bahrain’s support ecosystem for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and outlined the stages involved in preparing businesses for international markets.

The presentation covered export-readiness assessment, capability development, identifying target markets, export planning and facilitating access to international buyers and business partners.

It also highlighted trade relations between Bahrain and Oman, key products exchanged between the two markets, similarities between the markets and available trade and export opportunities.

Fatima Aziz Rostam stressed the importance of cooperation between Export Bahrain and Riyada in exchanging market knowledge and expertise and strengthening the readiness of SMEs to expand into regional and international markets.

Export Bahrain’s participation underscores Bahrain’s efforts to strengthen economic cooperation with Oman, support SMEs and create new opportunities for businesses to grow and expand into international markets.
