Shura Secretariat Promotes Legislative Awareness at Youth City 2030

Interactive competition introduces young participants to the Shura Council’s role and legislative process

The General Secretariat of the Shura Council participated in the activities of Youth City 2030 by organising an interactive competition aimed at promoting parliamentary awareness and spreading legislative culture among young people and children.

Held on the city’s stage in conjunction with International Youth Day, observed annually on August 12, the competition sought to strengthen values of democratic participation and active citizenship while supporting efforts to empower young people to contribute positively to national and development initiatives.

The competition featured a series of interactive questions designed to enhance participants’ understanding of the work of the legislative authority, the powers and responsibilities of the Shura Council, and the coordination and integration between the legislative and executive branches.

The activity also highlighted the role of the General Secretariat of the Shura Council in supporting the Council’s work.

The participation forms part of the General Secretariat’s annual cooperation with the Ministry of Youth to promote community partnership and strengthen cooperation with government and civil society institutions across Bahrain.

The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to raise awareness of legislative work among different segments of society and support approved programmes and plans aimed at advancing legislative awareness.
