HRH the Deputy King receives with the Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Bahrain
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Deputy King, today received His Excellency Dato’ Shazryll Zahiran, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Bahrain, at Gudaibiya Palace.
His Royal Highness affirmed that Malaysia’s hosting of the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, with the blessings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia, reflects the close and longstanding bilateral relations between the two countries.
HRH the Deputy King expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia for graciously extending his blessing for Malaysia to host the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix Formula One race.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad also thanked His Excellency Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, for His Excellency's support and cooperation in holding the race in Malaysia.
His Royal Highness also thanked the Formula 1, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), Bahrain International Circuit, Sepang International Circuit, and the participating teams for their support and in ensuring the successful transition of the race.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad highlighted the importance of continuing to build on cooperation to further expand opportunities that advance mutual interests.
During the meeting, the latest regional and international developments and issues of common interest were also discussed.
For his part, HE Dato’ Shazryll Zahiran expressed his appreciation for His Royal Highness’ unwavering commitment to strengthening Bahrain-Malaysia relations, to benefit both countries and their peoples. His Excellency further wished the Kingdom of Bahrain continued progress and prosperity.
Several senior officials also attended the meeting.
