Parliamentary Ties with India Grow

Bahrain’s longstanding relations with India continue to develop, with parliamentary cooperation emerging as an important area for closer coordination, Parliament Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam said as India marked its Independence Day.

Al Musallam congratulated Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Rajya Sabha Chairman C. P. Radhakrishnan on the occasion, wishing India and its people continued progress, prosperity and development.

He said the close relations between Bahrain and India have continued to grow with the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Indian President Droupadi Murmu.

The Speaker highlighted the two countries’ shared interest in strengthening parliamentary relations and expanding coordination at Asian and international parliamentary forums.

He also sent a congratulatory message to Indian Ambassador to Bahrain H.E. Vinod Jacob, praising the depth of the ties between the two countries and their peoples.

Separately, Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh congratulated India’s parliamentary leaders on the occasion, stressing the historic friendship and fruitful cooperation between Bahrain and India across various fields.

Al Saleh affirmed his keenness to strengthen parliamentary relations with India’s Council of States and House of the People, supporting the shared interests of the two countries.
