Health Regulator Opens Inquiry into Hospital Death
A patient’s death at a Bahrain hospital has led to an inquiry by the kingdom’s health regulator, which is examining her treatment, medical records and the care she received before her death.
The National Health Regulatory Authority said it opened the investigation as soon as the case was
reported.
A specialist panel is reviewing the woman’s medical file, her treatment and all related procedures.
It will also hear from the parties involved and assess whether the care met approved rules, clinical protocols and professional standards.
The authority said the inquiry would be carried out independently and impartially, with the aim of establishing what happened while protecting the rights of all parties.
Legal or regulatory action will follow if the panel finds any breach or shortcoming.
The findings will be made public once the inquiry is complete. The authority urged the public to rely on formal sources, avoid sharing unverified claims and refrain from drawing conclusions before the investigation ends.
It also offered its condolences to the woman’s family.
