Bahrain Launches Arab Education Quality Model

Training programme for education leaders begins alongside regional initiative

Bahrain's Education Minister, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, attended the launch of the Arab Model for Quality and Excellence in Education, describing it as a major step toward strengthening a culture of quality and excellence across educational institutions in the Arab world.

The initiative, organised by the UNESCO Regional Centre for Quality and Excellence in Education and hosted by Bahrain, was launched alongside a training programme for educational leaders from the Ministry of Education.

Dr. Juma said the model would enhance regional co-operation, promote the exchange of expertise, and support the development of educational practices that keep pace with global changes while improving learning outcomes.

He noted that Bahrain's hosting of the event reflects the strong support given to the education sector by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the continued backing of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He said this support has strengthened Bahrain's role as a regional hub for educational co-operation and innovation.

The minister added that the Ministry of Education remains committed to its national strategy for advancing education by promoting excellence, integrating modern technologies, developing curricula, and empowering educational leaders and teachers to improve institutional performance and achieve sustainable development goals.

He also praised the ongoing partnership with the UNESCO Regional Centre for Quality and Excellence in Education and the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation (ALECSO) for their contributions to advancing education across the Arab region.

The launch ceremony was attended by Dr. Abdulrahman bin Ibrahim Al Mudaires, Director-General of the UNESCO Regional Centre for Quality and Excellence in Education in Saudi Arabia, ALECSO Director-General Prof. Mohamed Ould Amar, along with senior officials, education experts and representatives of international organisations.
