Six Bids Open for Bahrain Stray Dog Control Tender
Six bids have been opened for a Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture tender to manage Bahrain’s stray dog population across the four governorates, with offers running from BD249,810 to BD936,375.
The Tender Board opened the bids on Monday for a public local and GCC request for proposals covering a catch-neuter-vaccinate-return scheme, known as CNVR.
All Care Veterinary Clinic WLL put in the lowest offer at BD249,810, followed by Tasneem Development Agriculture at BD414,810 and Blue Cross Veterinary Clinic WLL at BD424,290.547.
Black Gold Equipment Hiring bid BD489,060, while Vitamin Veterinary Clinic offered BD675,675. Tails Veterinary Centre WLL submitted the highest bid at BD936,375, which was accepted on condition.
The tender covers the catching, sterilising, vaccinating and marking of stray dogs, along with sheltering and rehabilitation. Dogs would then be rehomed, returned, or handled according to their case.
The ministry said the scheme is meant to bring stray dog numbers under control, improve public safety and cut health and environmental risks, while following recognised animal welfare standards.
Five bids were accepted, while Tails Veterinary Centre’s offer carried a condition. The Tender Board notice said bids remain subject to technical and financial checks, with price used as the main measure only after other requirements are met.
