Bahrain backs Yemen’s efforts for peace and stability

 

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani met with Yemen’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Dr. Afrah Al Zouba during her visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Dr. Al Zayani congratulated Dr. Al Zouba on assuming her new post and wished her success in leading Yemeni diplomacy during what he described as a pivotal period in Yemen’s history.

He affirmed Bahrain’s support for the Yemeni government in its efforts to achieve security and stability and fulfil the aspirations of the Yemeni people for development and prosperity.

Dr. Al Zouba highlighted the longstanding historical ties between Bahrain and Yemen and the continued growth of relations between the two countries at various levels. She stressed the two countries’ commitment to further strengthening cooperation in ways that serve their common interests.

The Yemeni Foreign Minister also expressed her government’s appreciation for Bahrain’s supportive position towards efforts to reach a peaceful settlement in Yemen, achieve peace and stability, and preserve freedom of navigation in the Bab Al Mandab Strait.

The meeting reviewed bilateral cooperation and ways to enhance it across areas of mutual interest, including economic, trade and development cooperation.

The two sides also discussed the latest regional developments, including the repercussions of developments affecting the freedom and safety of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab Al Mandab Strait on international trade, energy and food supplies, as well as the global economy.
