Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, Nabeel Kanoo, announced the opening of registration for membership in the Chamber’s Sectoral Committees for the 31st term, starting today, Monday, May 18, until Wednesday, June 17, 2026. This comes as part of the Board of Directors’ efforts to further develop institutional work and enhance private sector participation across various economic sectors.

Kanoo emphasized that opening nominations for the sectoral committees represents an open national invitation for business owners and private sector leaders to become active partners in economic decision-making and contribute to shaping the next phase.

He affirmed that this step reflects a vision focused on strengthening partnership with the business community by involving experienced professionals in developing the economic environment and proposing solutions and initiatives that support different sectors. He added that the sectoral committees serve as a platform that brings together national expertise to support legislative development, advance national development efforts, and strengthen Bahrain’s economic position.

He also noted that the committee formation for the current term is based on criteria ensuring fair and comprehensive representation of economic sectors and business activities, with particular focus on key and non-oil sectors supporting the national economy. The 31st term includes 11 specialized committees covering healthcare, education, technology, food, industry and sustainable energy, tourism, real estate, financial services, transportation, commercial markets, and pearls, gold, and traditional markets.

He stated that registration will be conducted electronically through the Chamber’s official

Kanoo explained that applicants must have relevant experience in the sector they wish to join and be actively engaged in the committee’s field of work. Membership is open to business owners, as well as experts and specialists who are not Chamber members, to maximize the benefit of national expertise across various sectors.

He added that the sectoral committees are a key mechanism for strengthening engagement with the business community, supporting economic initiatives, and submitting recommendations that contribute to the development of economic legislation and policies, while enhancing Bahrain’s economic and investment competitiveness.
