Muharraq boosts safety awareness with volunteer-led workshop

Salman bin Isa bin Hindi Al Mana’i has emphasised the importance of public awareness and education in enhancing community safety, highlighting collaboration with civil society organisations and volunteer groups as a vital pillar of social protection.

His remarks came during a workshop titled “Be Prepared”, organised by the Muharraq Governorate in partnership with the Al Ata’a Voluntary Team. The session was attended by families and homemakers as part of efforts to promote safety awareness at the household level.

The workshop covered essential topics including first aid basics, home safety measures, and emergency evacuation procedures. Participants also took part in hands-on training sessions designed to build practical skills and encourage active engagement.

Al Mana’i noted that such initiatives serve as a strong example of effective cooperation between government entities and community organisations, helping to foster a culture of responsibility and preparedness across society.

At the conclusion of the event, the governor honoured certified health and safety trainer Mohammed Ali Ashour and certified life-support trainer Fatima Abdullah for their contributions. He also commended the ongoing efforts of the volunteer team in supporting community-focused programmes.
