The urgent proposal, submitted by MPs Hisham Al Awadhi, Khalid Buanaq, Zainab AbdulAmeer, Ahmed Al Salloom and Mohammed Al Maarifi, urges authorities to fill existing vacancies with local talent and expand manpower in government bodies where workloads have increased.
Lawmakers said the efficiency of the public sector depends on faster hiring of trained national cadres to ensure the continuity of government operations.
They argued that several key institutions are experiencing staffing gaps that are affecting workflow, particularly in departments under heavier operational pressure.
In an explanatory note, the MPs said Bahrain has a “large pool of qualified nationals” capable of taking on such roles, adding that the National Volunteering Platform could also be used as a supplementary source of candidates during exceptional circumstances.
They noted that volunteers have previously demonstrated their ability to serve in national duties under varying conditions, making them a potential resource for recruitment where appropriate.
