Development Projects Committee Reviews Key Projects

 Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, chaired the 315th meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Development Projects and Infrastructure.

The committee, held as Bahrain presides over the 46th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Supreme Council, commended the outcomes of the 29th meeting of GCC ministers and officials responsible for municipal affairs, held in Bahrain last week.

The meeting brought together GCC ministers and officials concerned with municipal affairs in the presence of the GCC Secretary-General. It concluded with decisions and recommendations aimed at advancing joint GCC municipal cooperation and supporting sustainable development goals.

The committee stressed the importance of major development projects and their timely implementation in line with approved plans.

It also reviewed the latest developments concerning the tender for implementing the first phase of the Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah Highway Development Project, based on a briefing presented by the Minister of Works.

The committee also congratulated the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications and Bahrain Airport Company on Bahrain International Airport receiving three awards at the 2026 Skytrax World Airport Awards.

The committee noted that the recognition coincided with the return of passenger traffic to normal levels and reflected the airport’s operational efficiency and efforts to maintain high standards of quality and excellence in passenger services.
