“When young voices speak with purpose, they have the power to inspire a community.” 

Bhavans Bahrain Indian School (BIS) organised a School-Level, House-Wise Hindi Nukkad Natak Competition, providing students with a vibrant platform to develop their communication, dialogue delivery, acting and presentation skills in Hindi. The competition aimed to strengthen Hindi fluency, promote correct pronunciation and boost students’ confidence while encouraging them to address relevant social issues through street theatre.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the school houses, with students presenting thought-provoking performances on excessive mobile phone use, cyber security, cleanliness and the impact of Artificial Intelligence. Through creative storytelling, expressive dialogue delivery and coordinated acting, the participants conveyed meaningful messages while demonstrating teamwork, creativity and social awareness.

The competition was adjudicated by a distinguished panel comprising Ms Deepshikha Saraogi, Champion Hindi Toastmaster; Ms Abhiruchi Jain, media professional and theatre artist; and Mr Indrakumar Sharma, Head of the Hindi Department at Ibn Al-Hytham Islamic School. Their expertise and valuable observations enriched the learning experience for the participants.

Following the impressive performances, Vikings House secured the First Position, Gladiators House earned the Second Position, Warriors House secured the Third Position, and Spartans House finished fourth.

The competition reflected BIS’s commitment to promoting linguistic proficiency, creativity and holistic development through meaningful co-curricular activities. By integrating language learning with theatrical expression and social awareness, the event encouraged students to become confident communicators and responsible citizens.

Directors Mr Himanshu Verma and Mrs Ritu Verma, along with Principal Mr Saji Jacob, congratulated the winning houses and appreciated the enthusiastic participation of all students. They commended the Hindi Department and teachers for their dedicated efforts in nurturing students’ confidence, creativity and linguistic excellence.
